Pre-K Classroom

In the Pre-K Room, our desire is to have your child feel welcomed as they arrive to school. We understand that the transition from home to school can be hard, that is why we start our day with free choice activities in our various centers.

Also, each day we have circle time where we provide opportunities for students to pick jobs and learn about the concept of time through the use of our calendar, and our circle time is also where we begin daily discussions of our theme. The curriculum, Funshine Express, generally slits the month up into having two themes. With each theme, we try to provide hands on learning experiences for your child to learn. Each week we work on providing opportunities for your child to learn about concepts of math, science, art and literacy. We will make our way through the alphabet and prep your child to engage in learning various sight words. It is our desire to also help each child build character by helping them grow in their social-emotional development.

We use the Brightwheel App to send pictures, videos, and communicate with parents throughout the day. Brightwheel will also be used to sign your child in and out everyday. Please know that we as teachers see ourselves as partners with you in shaping your child’s development here at Refinery Preschool.
