Room Assignment:

Hi there! My name is Jessica Elizabeth Miller Raes, but your child probably knows me as Ms. Jessica. I’m 27 years old, recently engaged, and passionate about all things creative! In my free time, I enjoy theater arts, photography, and embracing my love for the 1950s. My favorite colors are lime green and orange, and yellow tulips always brighten my day.

In the classroom, learning comes to life through art! But when I say “art,” I don’t just mean crayons and paint—though we do love those too. I like to incorporate all forms of artistic expression: music, dance, visual arts, storytelling, and even cooking. I believe that when children engage their senses—seeing, hearing, touching, tasting, and smelling—they absorb knowledge more naturally and enthusiastically.
Art education is about more than just creativity; it’s about connection. It values each child’s voice, ideas, and experiences. Through art, children gain confidence, learn to value others, and develop a fresh way of looking at the world. Just like we remember song lyrics faster than textbook pages, children retain information better when it’s part of a hands-on, engaging experience.

In our classroom, we’ll sing, dance, create, and explore together. Some children might start out shy, but with gentle encouragement and consistent structure, they begin to shine—not just academically, but socially and emotionally too. Art-based learning is a journey we take as a team, gently pushing comfort zones and growing every step of the way.

I can’t wait to learn and grow.
